Course description:

These courses teach the original Dr Vodder Method of MLD and are recognised by Vodder Schools International. They are a prerequisite to the advanced training in lymphoedema management.

The Basic and Therapy 1 classes teach the very precise skin movements that make the Dr Vodder Method so effective in stimulating the lymphatic system. Applications at this level include all acute and chronic inflammation such as frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, post-operative oedema, rehabilitation from joint replacement or traumatic injury etc. These gentle techniques can replace heavy pressure and painful remedial techniques, such as trigger point therapy, without pain for the client and with much less stress on the body of the therapist. If you have ever thought there has got to be a better way  then this is it!

The advanced classes, Therapy 2 & 3, are taught in Australia every year by a director of the Dr Vodder School and teach all the medical applications such as lymphoedema prevention, reduction and management, venous ulcer treatments, CRPS, Meniere’s, cerebral oedema and recovery from stroke etc. You can find a course information booklet at under the information and link tab.

The full 4 week training is recognised by the Australasian Lymphology Association as a level 2 lymphoedema management course and graduates are eligible for listing on the National Lymphoedema Practitioner Register.

Jan Douglass has 25 years clinic and teaching experience the last 15 years specialising in lymphoedema management and research. She is the only Australian Instructor accredited by Vodder School International and is currently undertaking a PhD at James Cook University.
