Delay in new Medibank Provider Numbers UpdateIndustry, Practise
AAMT has received communication from Medibank regarding the delay in issuing new provider numbers.
Medibank has indicated they are expecting to run final tests on their updated system this weekend, to allow new provider numbers to be issued. In the meantime, Medibank has advised the following;
- Medibank will issue provider numbers with an effective date from when the file was received from AAMT.
- Please do not follow up with Medibank’s help desk. The help desk is unable to offer any additional information and may lead to further frustration as they are unable to issue provider numbers over the phone.
- Closures and additional locations from existing members will continue to be processed as normal.
