Delay in issue of Medibank Provider NumbersIndustry, Practise
AAMT has received the following communication from Medibank regarding processing of new members for Approved Provider Status with Medibank:
“We are experiencing some unexpected system issues this week concerning the issuing of provider numbers for new applicants.
New applicants are providers who have not previously been issued a provider number for that specialty / modality.
Unfortunately until this problem is fixed no new provider numbers will be issued to new applicants (as described above).
We will let you know as soon as normal service has been resumed and when we are processing the outstanding applications.
The issuing of provider numbers for additional locations (i.e. where a provider number for that speciality / modality has previously been issued) is not affected.”
AAMTs understanding is that this is affective for details sent to Medibank in the Months of November, December and January.
AAMT will inform members via Latest News and Facebook of any updates received.
